| Job Description | Position Purpose:
Partnership with global labor relations function to develop labor relations and Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) strategy and systems to protect MC¡¯s brand and image as a best employer and good corporation citizen in China, and ensure the strategy and systems complies with global and china HR strategy. Provide service, consulting, and training in all areas of labor relations and OHS including labor legislation and compliance, union management, employee commitment survey to people managers. Identify potential crisis in labor regulations implementation and OHS issues, and provide reasonable solutions management team, department heads. Key customers include HR team/National Department Heads/Regional VPGM. Principal Accountabilities: In addition to following MC¡¯s policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to: Strategy and Planning Develop labor relations and Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) strategy and systems, and ensure the strategy and system complies with global and China HR strategy Drives innovation, change, and implementation of labor relations practices that can improve business results Actively participates in MC¡¯s strategic business planning process at national level, and leads development of labor relations and OSH initiatives such as Employee Commitment Survey, Labor Union Management, Labor law compliance, workplace safety Anticipate and identify the future Labor Relations and OHS needs of the business and addresses them proactively Partnership with operations team and department heads to drive Labor Relations and OSH strategy of headquarters Develops affiliations and participates in government relations (union, labor department) activities to promote MC¡¯s image and impact business result Management and Implementation Is the Subject Matter Expert of China Labor Law, Policies and regulations, i.e. the regulations of occupational injuries and illness, safety requirement, etc Ensure that MC¡¯s basic people practices standards and preventive actions are happening in all restaurants and offices Set-up policies and systems, such as Employee Handbook, Employee Commitment Survey procedure, Audit Systems, etc Manage the implementations of Labor Relations and OHS strategy and system in China Actively be involved in developing people strategy and policy, ensuring compliance with labor laws Counsels and advice key customers regarding Labor Relations and OSH program such as labor law, company policies, occupational injuries and illness, workplace safety, employee complaint, employee commitment survey, union issue, etc Manage crisis situation (third party interventions, health and safety issue, wage and work hour audits, etc.), lead a cross function team with Legal, Communication, or Government Relations to deal with the labor crisis as an expert Relationships Develop and maintain good relationship with unions /communities/governments to avoid barriers to the business Build a strong and cohesive partnership with in-house or out-house labor lawyers Build partner relationship with related departments such as GR, PR Consulting Partner with department/regional heads to address labor relations and OSH related issues Develop training on labor law compliance for Management team, department heads in MCCL or regions, and monitor implementation to ensure compliance Consulting on labor laws and regulations, or MC¡¯s policies for HR team Guide local HR and LR to deal with local issues on labor disputes Assistant all staffs within LR team have the skills and capability to perform their roles effectively through individual and team development |
